Check out our year-round race walking and fitness programs. Our coaches and trainers will introduce you to race walking technique and help you improve your form.

9 a.m. Saturday Fitness Walk
This cornerstone of our training is a great place to get started race walking. We begin at 9 a.m. with instruction for new walkers and warm-up drills. Then we walk at a brisk pace for 45 minutes and end with cool-down stretches and club announcements. Meet us across from the east entrance of the Lincoln Park Zoo on Cannon Drive about a quarter of a mile south of Fullerton.

8 a.m. Saturday Advanced Workout
Join us at 8 a.m. for a faster pace.
  • From February 12 through April 2, our 8:00 group starting times will vary as we do long walks to build endurance for spring long-distances races. Click here for our endurance program training schedule. The endurance program will train interested walkers to participate in the Lakefront 10 Miler Race on Sunday April 10. Click here for information about this race.
  • From May through October we work on increasing speed and maintaining endurance during racing season.
  • From October through February, we recover and then start all over again.
  • Throughout the year we focus on good race walking form.
For a longer workout, meet us at 8 a.m. and stay for the 9 a.m. workout. Find us across from the east entrance to the Lincoln Park Zoo on Cannon Dr. south of Fullerton.
